Drifting idle through city smog,

Shadows move with discretion.

Scenting musk of a wild dog,

For him I have a question.

I see windows veined with rain,

All murmurs soon disrupt.

This hound! My unspoken bane,

Physical and mind corrupt;

I howl for mercy and bawl,

And spy a matted creature,

Bloodied eyes stare to the wall,

And he won’t be my teacher.
